 New Features

Some of the newest additions to the Plus & Minus feature set include:

"Transaction Recreate" (Drill Down):
This functionality extends the drill down capability of Plus & Minus by not only allowing the user to drill down to the source of each debit or credit from report values, but now provides the user with the ability to "recreate" the entire balanced transaction, that is all of the debits and credits comprising the entry that the selected debit or credit is part of.

Point of Sales functionality (Retail Doc Writer), including:
·         UPC code scanning

         Cash drawer

         Credit card swiping
·
         Check verification (third party software required)

The Retail Doc Writer uses common, off-the-shelf cash drawer hardware and receipt printers. It was developed from the perspective of those users needing to service both “walk-in” and “on account” customers. With the addition of the Retail Doc Writer, we believe Sales Doc writers of Plus&Minus provide for most, if not all, sales invoicing scenarios. OLE / Spreadsheet Linking
One of the most significant enhancements to the system is the addition of Object Link and Embedding (OLE) technology is the most efficient way to transfer information to / from a spreadsheet. This technology gives the user the option of using the built-in reports provided with Plus&Minus out-of-the-box or, if desired, MS® Excel to produce financial reports including, but not limited to, financial statements, transaction-based reports, and budget reports. We use it internally to generate management reports using Report Writer Matrix. After setting up the appropriate parameters within the spreadsheet, several mouse clicks later you are viewing a custom designed report. The spreadsheet parameters can be modified from within Plus&Minus. Unlike other high-end accounting systems, the user does not need to learn the programming basics of most common report writers, but rather can leverage existing familiarity with a few simple MS® Excel commands. We are continuing to extend OLE capability to other areas of the system, for instance most recently to the Payroll routines. Users can now track payroll / time data in a spreadsheet and, when ready, submit such data to the Plus & Minus' Paycheck Writer for verification and processing.

Sale/Purchase price/cost history
Available in both the Sales and Purchase doc writers' item edit window, “Price History” provides a history of all sales or purchases for the specific item indicated for the active customer/vendor. This feature is very helpful when attempting to verify pricing and/or quantity information of previous sales/orders.

DBA (Doing Business As)
Useful for companies operating in a multi-company or multi-location environment; it allows vendor and payroll checks, sales invoices, statements, purchase orders, etc. to carry different company name and address information within the same company dataset.
